Facilities: Womad is a day (and evening) only event, accommodation is up to you but there are plenty of options. Toilets and fresh running water. Food Stalls and Global Village with the most amazing food from all corners of the world (I've heard some people say they go just for the food, and the music is a bonus!), Workshops, Kids Zone!. This year Womad is introducing the Sustainable Villiage, which is an education centre for sustainable living.
Environment: from womad.org > "WOMAD stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance, expressing the central aim of the WOMAD festival - to bring together and to celebrate many forms of music, arts and dance drawn from countries and cultures all over the world." Womad New Zealand is set in the beautiful Brooklands Bowl in New Plymouth. Bring a picnic, bring a rug, being the family and enjoy the comfort, safety and community that is Womad New Zealand.
Other Info: A truly all ages event, which makes it that much more special. What we love about is that you can go there with your family, spent time in the sun laying the grass and having a picnic, and feel the culture of the world, then meet up with your friends later and have a wee party and go hang out at the dance tent, so to speak (Mr Scruff played in 2007, it was awesome!).
Accommodation: Camping is available on-site and there are plenty of camp grounds in and around New Plymouth, including some spectacular spots right on the beach-front.
