And this could quite possibly change your life. You will be part of a community that welcomes you, that loves you and that cares for you. You will be one amongst the thousands, yet you'll be treasured as a unique and wonderful part of the Parachute family. The Festival boasts a heap of amusement rides, a waterslide and high quality, safe programmes for kids and pre-teens. There is onsite medical team to help with any problems. And if you need to talk to someone about life, love or God, there's 'The Lounge'. Water stations are also located around site to re-hydrate and cool yourself down.

Environment: Held over Auckland anniversary weekend, the Parachute Festival features the heavyweights of Christian music across six stages. Over 100 local and international bands fill Hamilton's Mystery Creek Events Centre with everything from hardcore to hip hop, electronica to alt-country, and plenty in between. The drug and alcohol free four-day event offers a wide range of entertainment alongside the rock n' roll - including amusement rides, seminars- encouraging food for thought, water slide, skate park, and shopping. Since its inception in 1991, Parachute Festival has become an icon of the Kiwi summer. Drawing crowds of 25,000, it attracts mainstream interest but has stayed true to its focus - to connect people to Jesus through music. Parachute Festival is a Christian Festival and as such there are a few rules are in place. The basics are: keep drug and alcohol free (policed 24/7), don't tent with the opposite gender (unless you're married), and dress with modesty. Parachute Festival is a safe environment for families, and has plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy top-notch Christian artists and speakers. Festival has a reserved Family tenting area with noise restrictions in place from 11pm each night, for those who prefer some quiet.

Having worked in the technical industry for years I think you are mistaken to the costs of putting events like this together. Costs you probably havnt thought of - Resource Consent, Toilets, Waste, Staging, Light/Sound, Crowd control, security, first aid, advertising, PR/HR, live acts, Traffic control, paid staff for certain tasks, banners, legal team etc etc. The costs of running an event like this are actually huge- Look at phat or area 9, both organisers are now bankrupt owing hundreds of 1000`s because ticket number were not as high as expected.

EXPENSIVE, and im still confused as to where the ALL the money goes? As not all artists get paid, only the ones they consider big! I know that trigger theory dosnt get paid and they pull a huge crowd. $80 for a day, well night really when you go on the friday! And sposes of Artists have to pay to get in! Horrible! How much money of the millions they are making go towards charity etc? And how much do they pocket? I wonder

Hi Monique.. Yes Parachute have volunteer crews running. If you're interested in being part of the Parachute 2011 volunteer crew please email Parachute directly at festival@parachutemusic.com. Parachute neither confirmed or denied getting entry tickets in exchange for work so its definatly worth a shot... Good Luck!

Hey, a couple of years ago me and my friend worked at parachute, so we didn`t pay for the ticket instead worked a couple hours each day. I want to know if they`re still doing it this year.
