A Low Hum NYE 2010: Fields Of Dreams

View Comments
Fields of Dreams

Date: 31st December - 01st January 2009

Location: Camp Wainui, about 30 mins drive from Wellington central over the Wainuiomata hill.   Cost: $30, easy, simple, cheap (and it's BYO!!).

Tickets: online (through paypal) at http://alowhum.com/shop/ or bank deposit.

Line-up (so far..): A dozen or so bands. So the philosophy behind A Low Hum outdoor gigs is that its more important the vibe that is created then "who" is performing. This is NOT Camp(us). This isn't the kind of party you can come to by yourself and have fun, there aren't tons of bands and crazy amounts of stuff to do, Fields of Dreams is created for groups of friends who want to get together out of the city and hang out in a beautiful stress free environment not packed full of idiots and maybe watch some bands, or not.

Facilities: It's BYO!!! You can get a bunk room either a 4 ($60) or 5 ($75) bunk cabin. There is plenty of kitchen space to cook up a sweet New Years Day feast. Fields of Dreams runs over two days and nights. Just roll up anytime from midday on Dec 31st. Bands won't be on till around 9pm or so, so if you want to hang around for a new years day party, you can. Again, bands kicking in around 8pm, but there will be people to hang out with all day. Gotta clear out early on the 2nd.

Environment: Some sweet bands, beautiful location and friends. Fields of Dreams is happening at Camp Wainui this New Years Eve, people may recognise Camp Wainui from such events as Camp A Low Hum 2009, except this time, there are tons less people, heaps less bands and you can tent wherever you want over the huge space.

Travel Info: It's about 30 mins drive from Central Wellington, see the location page for more detail.
