What if school was the most inspiring, revelatory, exciting and dreamlike period of your entire life, where amazing shit was constantly happening everywhere and your teachers were your friends and your friends were the sound of a thousand high fives.
Line-up (so far..): So the philosophy behind Camp is that its more important the vibe that is created then "who" is performing. The freedom of not announcing a lineup means they can book only the best live bands, not bands who have "pull" or have to be popular. The A Low Hum vision is that people can come to campus, not even watch one single band and still have a killer good time. The fact that the band lineup is ridiculously awesome just makes the event insanely sweet.
Camp is as much for the bands as it is for the people going. There are no green rooms, backstage areas, crowd divisions. All the performers are there for the party as much as any punter going.
Facilities: It's BYO!!! Campus A Low Hum is taking place at a historical agricultural college just outside of Bulls. Sitting unused since 1989, this incredible site features a Gymnasium, Library, Classrooms, Dorms and heaps more on a large landscaped property. The first term of Campus A Low Hum will begin soon. Will you enrol? So this is quite cool, it means you can book a dorm room at a music festival so there's the possibility of hooking up one of the (very limited) dorm rooms at the Campus for those who don't want to tent it. You get a CALH Student ID with the gurning picture of your choice.
Environment: Campus is sometimes foolishly mistaken for a music festival. It`s a four day music camp for people who can`t handle music festivals, people who want a smaller audience, more intimate shows, more time to relax, no queues, no stress, good and cheap food, byo, more variety ie: not just bands but a range of activities and goodtimes. It`s a pretty sweet time.
Travel Info: Are you coming from the South Island? Why not just jump on the CALH private Jet (unconfirmed, it may be a prop plane, but still pretty kick arse). Limited seats available at $200 will pick you up at Christcurch airport, take you to camp via plane and bus, then drop you back to Chch afterwards, kinda like the Sydney Mardi Gras "Pink" plane, but with all the fun CALH peoples.
